David & his sheep
Автор: Юлія Лапушанська
people may think
to make your work is easy
being a blogger is easy
being married is easy
living in Europe is easy
learning a new language is easy
being a Ukrainian is easy
being a daughter is easy
being a mother is easy
being a shepherd is easy
being David is easy
caring for sheeps is easy
no one knows
no one knew
about the lion
about the bear
but God does
he knew
the deep throughs
battles
furios eyes of these animals
David having a decision
to protect his sheep
David haven’t chose to leave them
he was there
it wasn’t one second and ready
it’s a lot of memories
it’s stress
it’s post traumatic depression
maybe
no one knew
how it was
no one saw
David’s eyes
his tears maybe
his body being so stable
his decision
to go
his decision
to be faithful
it was every day work
David needed to do a lot
to care for his sheep
to herd sheep
a flock of sheep
a shepherd’s crook
shepherding can also
be demanding physically
work days are long and
filled with exercise
tending thousands of sheep
can be a lonely and dirty job
he kept
his father’s sheep
it wasn’t even his!
he needed to take care
for something
that wasn’t even his prosperity
and he sacrificed the whole days here
have he was highly rewarded
by respect for it
by his brothers?
no
not at all
…his work as a shepherd had prepared him for the task of facing up to Goliath even though the giant had been ‘a man of war from his youth’. In saying ‘thy servant kept his father’s sheep’ see 1 Sam. 17. 32-34 the word ‘kept’ that he uses has the sense of tending or pasturing, evidencing a concern for the all round wellbeing of the flock”
Lord Jesus could say, ‘I lay down
my life for the sheep’, John 10. 15.
.
Ezekiel mentions such a sheepfold when he predicts the future of Israel: “I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be” (Ezekiel 34:14)
Sheepcotes in connection with caves. There are many caves in the Holy Land, and when one of these is available it is utilized as a sheepcote. During stormy weather, and at night, the sheep retreat into the cave, but at other times they are kept in the enclosure immediately in front of the cave’s mouth.
did you know
that sheep
go against the wind?
is it was always easy for David?
no
at all
David was around 15 years old when Samuel anointed him king in the midst of his brothers.

of the David
The First Book of Samuel and the First Book of Chronicles both identify David as the son of Jesse, the Bethlehemite, the youngest of eight sons.
Saul offered David his oldest daughter, Merab, a marriage David respectfully declined.
God sends the prophet Samuel to anoint a shepherd, David, the youngest son of Jesse of Bethlehem, to be king instead.
A servant of Saul proposes David, whom the servant describes as "skillful in playing, a man of valor, a warrior, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence; and the Lord is with him."
All Israel loves David,
but his popularity causes Saul to fear him.
